… but this little girl is a true fighter. Meet Shaelynn, 6 and 1/2 weeks old. This little trooper spent 6 weeks in the ICU at Children’s Hospital and is now home and doing great. Welcome home, Shaelynn!
Newborn sessions celebrate the newness of life, the little fingers and toes, the wispy hair and wrinkled up faces that are exclusively newborn. But this session is resonating with me for a different reason – it was a reminder that new life is a wonder partly because it is also so fragile. I fall in love with each little baby I work with (I know, who doesn’t, right?), but my heart grew when I met Shaelynn and I am still in awe of how such a little person can have such a fighting spirit. This little girl is going to grow into one strong, beautiful woman – there is no doubt about that!
It was an honor to document Shaelynn at home with her parents. Here are some of my favorite shots from our afternoon together…
Here she is, already Daddy’s little girl!
The bond between mother and child is beautiful – I love the exchange between these two here. Pure love…
Showing off her beautiful, alert eyes!
A fun way to showcase Shaelynn’s pudgy little baby feet and her parents’ love…
All that is missing is a pair of ballet slippers – too cute!
