When my husband started fishing about birthday ideas a few weeks ago I told him I wanted nothing more than to celebrate with my family and spend the weekend in Maine – so up we went, with everyone else with out of state plates, to Maine for the holiday weekend. Nothing like a BBQ and home made whoopie pies to celebrate my birthday and the 4th all rolled into one. Really, can it get any better?
I had one session planned for the weekend – Lisa, Steve, baby Cade and Toro – the final session of ‘baby’s first year.’ I hope to have that edited and up shortly, so stay tuned – they came out fabulous!
Until then here are a few (okay, quite a few…) of my personal favorites – from photos photos of Cale hanging out with the family on my parents back porch to photos Dan, Cale and I at Pine Point Beach in Scarborough, Maine where Dan and I fell in love…

Showing off one of his new tricks he learned recently – holding onto toys… of course, they are already going into his mouth!

I don’t know why, but I love this one with his sun hat – perhaps because I feel like we are constantly fixing it. His head isn’t quite big enough to fill it out yet, but it does the job. He loves sitting with his grampy!

Two weeks ago he discovered his toes – now it is hard to get his attention. If he finds his toes, forget it! Nothing can compete right now. Oh, and his is very much into exercising his vocal chords these days, especially when you sing to him.

A future assistant perhaps???

Hanging out with Auntie Kate (before he found his toes)….

After the photo session with Lisa, Steve and Cade my mom snapped a few quick photos of our family – thanks mom! This is where it all started – morning walks on the beach with our dog Cooper. It is always nice to return to where your love story started – this will forever be one of my favorite places to visit.

Ahhh…. life is good…
